Davantech Ltd was founded in 2017. In 2011, Christchurch was hit by a 6.2 magnitude earthquake and the inventor observed that many of the glass structures failed to perform. His solution was a glass bonding system which resulted in New Zealand's first generic producer statement (PS1) for bonded frameless glass balustrades.
